Brunei Tanah Ayer Ku...

I've embarked on a mini project called "Brunei - Tanah Ayer Ku". It involves putting together a Goggle Earth database of all the places I know in Brunei. As you can see from the picture, its getting pretty crowded with place markers all over! Those red dots you see at the stadium are measurement points for my usual stadium walking route. It measures 2.98km from start to finish. There's heaps more points to place on the map of course, and I'm contemplating putting in those street and place names that bruneiresources describes in his recent post . Now where did I put that street directory... :)

Painful defeat...

27jun06 AUSTRALIA had made it onto soccer's world stage despite its 1-0 loss to Italy, Football Australia chief executive John O'Neill has said. Speaking from Germany, Mr O'Neill said the Socceroos were devastated by their loss. "We are really gutted. Sport can be very cruel, but today it was excruciatingly cruel," he said on Channel 7. "The dressing room was incredibly sad, lots of tears." But Australia had proved itself to the world, he said. "We are the great over-achievers. We came here as a lowly ranked team, lucky to make it in the eyes of the world, but the world has taken notice, big time, of what Australia has done. "There was not a team that we have played who was demonstrably better. "The boys have done us proud, we are immensely proud of them. We deserved the quarter final spot but it just didn't happen." Mr O'Neill said there was still widespread support for Lucas Neill, who was responsible for a last minute penal

Responsibility...

There was a most important job that needed to be done, And no reason not to do it, there was absolutely none. But in vital matters such as this, the thing you have to ask Is who exactly will it be who'll carry out the task? Anybody could have told you that everybody knew That this was something somebody would surely have to do. Nobody was unwilling; anybody had the ability. But nobody believed that it was their responsibility. It seemed to be a job that anybody could have done, If anybody thought he was supposed to be the one. But since everybody recognised that anybody could, Everybody took for granted that somebody would. But nobody told anybody that we are aware of, That he would be in charge of seeing it was taken care of. And nobody took it on himself to follow through, And do what everybody thought that somebody would do. When what everybody needed so did not get done at all, Everybody was complaining that somebody dropped the ball. Anybody then could see it was an awful cryi

My first love... two tons of metal and glass... Nissan launched the GQ Patrol, also known as the Y60, in 1988. It was aimed fairly and squarely at Toyota's LandCruiser, which was the top-selling four-wheel-drive. Mine was the long wheelbase high top wagon. My choice of powerplant was the 85kW 4.2-litre diesel inline six. She had overhead-valves and was carburettor fed. The transmission was a five-speed manual and power was delivered to the wheels through a two-speed transfer box. They don't make em like they used to...

Hello....

Parents are role models...

Parents are the most influential role models children are likely to have. Parents who pay compliments and show respect, kindness, honesty, friendliness, hospitality and generosity to their children will encourage them to behave in the same way. Parents should express their unconditional love for their children, as well as provide them with the continued support they need to become self-assured and happy. It is also important that parents set reasonable expectations for their children and tell them in plain words what they expect from them.
